What’s Holding You Back From Being Successful?

Many people believe that success is something we are born with. While others believe that in order to become successful one must come from a wealthy family. Both of these assumptions are totally false and are two excuses that are commonly used by people who have never achieved success. Certainly being born with talent or having a huge trust fund can help you on the road to success it doesn’t guarantee it. The only real way to achieve success in life is hard work and determination. But sometimes you need some extra help on that road to success so below you will find some really great tips that have helped others in their quest for success.

Five tips that will help you become more successful.

1. Love what you do. Many people seek out college degrees and jobs simply because they are in a high paying field. But unless you love what you do every day it’s going to feel like a chore. Instead find a profession that excites and inspires you. This will help you reach a level of personal success that no money could ever buy.

2. Set high goals. So many people settle for meritocracy when they could have achieved so much more in life. So while planning your life’s goals dream big. Your only limitations are the ones that you create. The sky is the limit and for those who are willing to work hard anything can be accomplished.

3. Try to stay balanced. Like all things in life a happy median is best. Too much of any one thing can be harmful and even destructive. While working hard to reach your goals in order to succeed you have to take time out for rest as well. One of the most common causes of failure is burnout. So remember to take a break every now and then, life is too short not to enjoy it.

4. Learn from your mistakes and get back up. Some people are really afraid of failure and this fear alone keeps them from achieving success in life. We all make mistakes and we all are going to have some failures in life. This is part of being human. But instead of letting your failures keep you down get back up and strive harder for success.

5. Keep a positive outlook in life. Nothing can pull you down more than a negative outlook in life. This is a recipe for failure and a mental roadblock to success. Instead try to look at life in a positive manner. The more positive you are the faster success will come your way.

This is very bad for your health and you may even end up in trouble with the police over it. Instead learn to let things go. The more you are at peace the less chances anger will creep into your life.

How To Beat Procrastination

Like it or not, procrastination is something that we all have to deal with at some point in our lives. For some of us procrastination is a minor problem, when we put off cleaning out the garage to do something easier, that’s procrastinating. When we put off asking the boos for a raise, or we put off asking out that woman because we’re afraid we will get turned down, that is also procrastinating.

For other people, procrastination can turn into a major problem that leads to things like depression. Some people have an intense fear of failure, and will do leaps and bounds to avoid it. These people may put off things like a career change into a more enjoyable field, or a move to a better neighborhood because they are afraid that they will fail miserably in their new circumstances.

Another time that procrastination is a serious issue is at times when people avoid things like going to a doctor, or having that surgical procedure because they think it will only make things worse. In the end, avoiding these things is what makes things worse. The good news is, procrastination does not have to be a serious problem. You can take steps to eliminate it from your life.

The first thing you need to do to beat procrastination is identify what is causing you to do it in the first place. We all procrastinate for different reasons. Some of these reasons are physical, we don’t want to take on that tough job because we know it is hard work, and some of these reasons are emotional, like when we put off things like visiting in-laws because we know it makes us feel uncomfortable.

Once we have identified our reasons for procrastination, the next thing to do is to eliminate them. This is often easier said than done, in many cases saying that you want to stop putting things off is not enough. Make a list of the things you want to accomplish, and the steps you need to take in order to accomplish those things. Check them off as you do them, and as you do you will feel better about yourself.

Getting organized and staying organizes is essential if you want to beat procrastination.

It is important to remember that only you can eliminate procrastination in your life. Expecting others to help you is just another form of procrastination, and as such will never solve the original problem. Asking someone for advice is perfectly acceptable, as long as you are the one who puts that advice to good use.

Eliminating procrastination in our lives is a personal battle. The way we look at ourselves often plays a large role in helping us decide which things we will do in life, and which ones we are going to put off. If we can get right with ourselves and who we are, then we have a lot less reason to put things off. A person who loves themselves believes they can get things done, and enjoys the feelings of accomplishment when a task is completed.

That person can be you. Eliminate the negative things in your life like bad work habits, and a messy house. You don’t really need negative people in your life either, whether they are related to you or not. Set boundaries for people who seem like they only want to bring you down. If you don’t they will eventually succeed because misery does love company,. If you do all these things, you will be a long way towards finally eliminating procrastination from your life.

Ways To Improve Your Productivity

We all want to be more productive, but for many of us, that’s easier said than done. We’re tired, we’re distracted, and we get burned out from feeling mired in mundane tasks for too long. However, improving productivity isn’t just a pipe dream. By paying extra attention to a few things, you can drastically improve your output, accomplish a lot more, and feel better about how you spend your time. Here are five tips to get you started.

1. Make a To-Do List
We’ve all been there: we sit down to get some work done, only to forget what we need to do and waste time trying to remember it. Making a list of things we want to accomplish eliminates surprises and forgotten tasks. Keep it on paper, on your computer, with an app on your mobile device — the method that will work best for you is the method you should use. Be sure to keep your items broken down into manageable tasks rather than bigger, overwhelming things to do, and be specific so you can stick to it. The best part of a to-do list, though, may be the sense of accomplishment you feel as you cross off the things you finish.

2. Keep Social Media Time to Sanctioned Breaks
Social media is fun, and it’s become a huge part of our lives. Unfortunately, when you’re trying to work, it’s also a huge distraction. However, there is time for social media and high productivity. Here’s how: taking breaks is important to staying motivated and productive. By taking social media breaks a few times a day, you’ll still feel like you’re connected with friends and hot-button topics, but you’ll also get a lot of work done because you won’t be checking your Facebook updates or your Twitter feed every five minutes. Try taking a 15 minute social media break every two hours or so, and then get back on task.

3. Take Advantage of Your First Energy
Many of us are at our peak productivity first thing in the morning. It’s a perfectly quiet time to get things done before all the distractions of the day creep in. Try waking up an hour earlier than normal and getting right to work. Of course, this means getting to sleep a bit earlier, but you may find that you get a ton of things done in the day’s first 60 minutes. Not a morning person? No problem — pay attention to your own productivity peaks to figure out when you’re getting the most done, and take advantage by planning to work during that time. For some it’s just after lunch, while for others it’s late at night. Whatever time is best for you, use it to your advantage.

4. Dangle the Carrot
It’s important to work hard, but it’s also important to reward yourself. Promise yourself something good for accomplishing certain tasks, or for crossing a certain number of items off your to-do list. You probably can’t promise yourself a new car, of course, but things like going out to a movie, picking up some Thai take-out, or even opening a great bottle of wine are perfect things to look forward to and help you visualize the end of a productive day.

5. Get a Good Night’s Sleep
This may sound basic, but it’s easy to forget how important it is to get enough rest. When you’re tired, it’s hard to focus. When you’re well rested, you’re on top of your game and ready to knock out any tasks that come your way. Of course, a little coffee may help, but all the coffee in the world can’t replace the productive energy that comes from quality shut-eye. Set a bed time, stick to it, and wake up feeling great and ready to go.

Creating A Good Meditation Environment

One thing that helps a lot of people out there to realize the barriers that have been holding them back, or the answers to problems that have been plaguing them, is just a bit of regular meditation each day. The time limit is not as important as actually creating this habit and doing it daily.

To be successful with your meditating, you need a good space where you can immerse yourself and get in the zone without having to worry about any distractions or discomfort while you engage in the process.

One of the most important things is that this space needs to be private and free of distractions. For most people, this means a door so that no one walks in and distracts you – including your pets. A door is also useful for shutting out the sounds that you do not want distracting you. Remove any phones from the meditation room as nothing is quite as annoying as sitting quietly in meditation and having the ring-ring of a phone cutting into your in the zone time. And if there is anything else in the space that makes an annoying noise, then now is the time to relocate it.

Work on creating the sound that you want to hear while in meditation. This can be anything from the bubbling sounds of water coming from a cool zen fountain that you’ve added to the room or a noise cancelling machine that gives you white noise or sounds of a rainstorm on a tin roof. Or maybe it is instrumental violin music that doesn’t distract. Whatever it is – make sure that you have it available for each day that you meditate so that when your body hears that sound, it knows that it is time for you to get in the zone.

Another important feature of your meditation room is comfort. This is everything from the temperature to the seating. If you prefer it cool, then crank up the air conditioner or put a fan in the room that you can use. For seating, you can go with lots of large pillows, mats and blankets or bring in a really comfortable chair or couch. Whatever it is, you to make sure that it is comfortable for prolonged periods of sitting in the same place. Otherwise, your meditation will be ruined by your constant thoughts about how uncomfortable your seating is in the room. And no one wants that, right? Cause it would make the whole process a complete waste.

If you like certain smells, then take care to include that in your room as well. It could be something like fresh flowers or even an oil reed diffusers that lets out nice smelling essential oils into the room. I suggest lavender essential oil as it is known for it’s calming effects.

Do You Need A Life Coach?

Before you choose a life coach, it is important to know what they are, and what they can do for you. Life coaches can be viewed as people, who do not necessarily have degrees in social work or psychology, who attempt to work with people who have come to a crossroads in their personal or business lives where they are “stuck.”

Thinking that you need a life coach, does not mean that you are weak or incompetent, just that you feel you need someone in your corner. To learn how to think”outside of the box.”, because being in a box does not assist you in solving the problems in your life.

No one’s life is perfect. Every human can benefit from a second set of ears, and let’s be clear here, life coaches are not therapists, which makes them a more palatable option for some men who think of therapy as a tool for women to come to terms with their past. Coaching,  they can relate to, because it reminds them of sports. Even experts need to fine tune their life skills, be it in communication, or relationships . The downside of being a life coach is you often are not licensed, are not permitted to diagnose illness or prescribe medication, which makes your services in the category of non-reimbursable by insurance.

The concern in the growing numbers of people becoming life coaches, is their inability to treat truly lonely fearful people, who are the clientele of psychotherapists. Life coaches are action and solution oriented, closing the door on past issues to deal with more present problems. The bottom line is you may need a therapist,to comes to terms with underlying issues, when those have been managed, a life coach can keep you even keeled. Remember that no therapist or life coach is able to “fix” your unhappiness. The answer is within yourself, life coaches will assist you at figuring out the reasons for your unhappiness, or being “stuck”, but you have to do the actual internal; work on your own.

Lifestyle Design – What It Is And What It Means For You

What is lifestyle design, how can you incorporate it into your life? Well lifestyle design may mean something different for different people. Is it living your life in style? Having style in your life, fancy clothes, home, or cars? Is it being able to live life by your own design? Is it about being rich and having it all?

Lifestyle design can be loosely described as living the rich lifestyle without being rich. How can that be possible? Well there is also different theories on this. What do the rich have that the rest of us do not have, well besides lots of money? How about “time”.

We are all brought up to finish school, get a job and work hard until you reach retirement age. The only problem with this is most people are to tired, or even sick to enjoy the so called “golden years”.

Mom and dad pumped into us the thinking that all you had to do was work hard while in your prime. Save hard to pay for a house, kids, two weeks a year vacation.

What about spending time with the kids, going on vacation whenever you want and not having to punch that clock.

Lifestyle design for some means being able to live the retirement life while still in your prime. Being able to do what you want whenever you want. It does not have to be a fantasy. You have to examine your life and goals you want to achieve, then finding a way to make it a reality.

You should be able to make your life what you want and not what conventional society dictates it should be. Should you not have the time and freedom to live life your way, no matter what stage of life you are in?

The internet has made it a lot easier for some people to create their own lifestyle design. Many have opted to work from home, saving commute times and stress. Some have even decided to become entrepreneurs, starting their own businesses. You have to think out of the box. Decide what you want out of life and then find the right way for you to get it. Do what feels right for you, whatever that is. You can only be held back by your fears.

If working from home or starting your own internet business is not right for you, there has to something that will give you the time and freedom to live your own lifestyle design. Do your research, there is always a plan “B” if you want it bad enough. Not everyone trades time for money, work smarter not harder.

Your life, your plan. Live your life on purpose, your way. That is lifestyle design. Anything is possible if you want it bad enough.

What A Life Coach Can Do For You

Simply put, a life coach is someone who helps steer you through difficult life challenges, such as career moves and other personal goals you wish to achieve, by helping you map out the surest path to that fulfillment.

No one can be successful in life without setting goals. Therefore, a considerable amount of time must be spent planning for the realization of all that planning and hard work. The life coach’s job is, not to plan your life for you, but to be there to offer support and to help you uncover the best ways to achieving your goals.

However, just setting goals isn’t enough; planning must be followed up by action. Consequently, it is the job of a life coach to hold you accountable by making sure that you follow through with the plan of action you have laid out for yourself. He knows that there are a lot of things that can distract you from your stated goal, so he’ll be there to give you a little nudge when you begin to lose focus.

Some people have a tendency to dream too big. In such cases, a life coach can be there to rein in grandiose and unrealistic ideas and, instead, chart a course for you that are more realistic and attainable. He will be able to show you how through taking baby steps toward personal and professional growth can be much more rewarding than struggling to meet a goal that is really out of reach.

If attaining your goals is important to you, and you don’t to do anything that might prevent them from coming to fruition, then you might want to consult a life coach before proceeding. Using a questionnaire as a starting point, he’ll be able to ascertain just where it is you want to go in life. In addition, he’ll be able to tell just how committed and willing you are to fulfilling your dream. Then, using information you provided, he’ll help you forge a path that is the least painful and most likely to succeed.

There are no special qualifications for someone who retains the services of a life coach. Anyone from housewives to administrators can benefit from their expertise. The relationship they form with their clients is like a partnership where your goals and his become one and the two of you are dedicated to achieving that end.
